At 12:52 on September 5, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan. As of 14:00 on the 7th, the earthquake had killed 74 people (including 40 people in Ganzi, 34 people in Ya'an), 35 people lost contact (14 of Ganzi, 21 people in Ya'an), and more than 270 people were injured. Local rescue work is starting nervously.
