At around 8:10 on the morning of September 17, 2022, a gas tank explosion accident occurred in the Xingfu City barbecue restaurant in Huaiyin District, causing one person to die, 1 person seriously injured, 4 people were injured, and the injured were sent to the hospital for treatment in time.

After the accident, Chen Zhichang and Mayor Shi Zhijun immediately demanded to treat the wounded to find out the responsibility of the accident. Gu Kun, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor, and Huaiyin District, the main responsible comrades rushed to the scene to conduct rescue disposal.
