Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: The energy consumption of 5G base stations in my country decreased by more than 20%compared to the initial stage of commercial use

Huang Libin, director of energy conservation and comprehensive use of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that data centers and 5G are strategic resources and public infrastructure that supports future economic and social development, and it is also one of the key areas of energy conservation and consumption reduction.

Since the "Thirteenth Five -Year Plan", the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recommended more than 100 advanced applicable technology products with data centers and 5G energy -saving and efficiency services. In order to create a typical benchmark, three batches of 153 national green data centers were released. Organize the formulation of energy efficiency standards such as "Energy Efficiency Limitation and Energy Efficiency Grade of Data Center" to promote the green upgrade of data centers. At present, the energy consumption of 5G base stations has reduced the energy consumption of more than 20% compared with the initial period of commercial use in 2019. The average design electrical energy utilization ratio of data centers under construction in the country has dropped to 1.3.

In the future, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will take the following three measures to accelerate the renovation and upgrading of energy -saving carbon reduction in digital infrastructure, scientifically and orderly promoting the green low -carbon transformation and high -quality development of the entire industry.

The first is to strengthen policy guidance. Encourage the development of "East Digital and West Calculation" to guide enterprises to deploy data centers in the region of suitable climate and renewable energy -enriched regions. Continue to release energy -saving technology and equipment products for energy -saving technology and equipment in the field of industrial and information technology, and to accelerate the innovation and technical application of digital infrastructure efficient energy -saving equipment. We will carry out in -depth industrial energy -saving diagnosis services, organize energy -saving diagnosis of data centers and communication base stations, dig deep into energy saving potential, and promote energy conservation and carbon reduction, cost reduction and efficiency.

The second is to create a typical benchmark. Conjugina, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Management Bureau, the CBRC, the Energy Bureau and other departments continued to carry out the national green data center construction, and released the list of national green data centers and typical cases in the fields of manufacturing, communications, Internet, public institutions, finance and other fields. Strengthen green design, operation and maintenance, and energy measurement review to drive the industry's green and sustainable development.

The third is to improve the standard system for energy conservation and carbon reduction. Accelerate the revision of the relevant standard system in the field of digital infrastructure energy conservation and efficiency, and support the development of standards such as energy efficiency, green operation and maintenance, and high -efficiency refrigeration of information and communication equipment. Organize and implement energy -saving monitoring of national industrial specialized, carry out energy -effective monitoring such as data centers, and promote the reasonable use of key energy use fields in accordance with laws and regulations.
