[Global Times Comprehensive Report] In order to cooperate with the United Nations Climate negotiations in New York, the world's first public database to track fossil fuel production, reserves and emissions was launched on the 19th.

According to the US Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) on the 19th, the database collected data from more than 50,000 oils, natural gas and coal fields in 89 countries, covering 75%of the world's reserves, output and emissions. Such a huge database is open to the public for the first time in the world. Although the International Energy Agency has been managing public data of oil, natural gas and coal, it mainly focuses on the needs of energy, and this newly -built database pays attention to those unused energy sources.

It is reported that this database is jointly developed by the "Global Energy Monitoring" organization that studies the impact of energy transformation on the financial market and the "Global Energy Monitoring" organization that tracks various energy projects in the world. We urgently need to reduce carbon emissions. I hope that this database can give private organizations more power and allow them to supervise the government's procedures for the government to issue fossil fuel mining permits, and to let those large oil, natural gas and coal companies bear greater responsibilities. "Stanford University Climate scientist Rober Jackson also said: "The uniqueness of this database is to emphasize the transparency of fossil fuel production and reserve." (Luc)
