China Well -off. September 22. Old Malaysia Russia almost no longer provide natural gas to Germany. Energy companies and consumers are under pressure due to high prices. The German federal government offsets this by levying natural gas taxes and reducing natural gas value -added tax.

German consumer gas costs are more and more expensive

The German Broadcasting Alliance reports that the gas surcharge will be implemented on October 1. This means that consumers will pay three taxes with their natural gas bills in a few weeks: natural gas tax, control of energy tax and gas storage tax. The surcharges will continue to increase the energy cost of consumers, but most of the cost increase is directly attributed to the rise in natural gas prices caused by insufficient Russian natural gas supply.

The federal government has decided to take some measures to reduce the burden on consumers. However, these only absorbed the pressure of price increases to a small extent.

In the future, anyone who uses natural gas must pay an additional natural gas surcharge of 2.419 cents per kilowatt -hour. Therefore, all customers of gas suppliers and public undertakes need to pay surcharges and pay them to natural gas importers. However, energy suppliers themselves have not benefited from taxation, they just charge fees.
