Hand dance knives, sweat beads slipped, wood chips flying ... The pattern on the wood gradually became clear.

In mid -September, the author walked into a woodcarving studio in Yaha Town, Kuqa City. I saw Wujaer Hermantan, who was just 50 years old this year, took a wooden hammer in one hand and held a knife in one hand. The wooden board was carved down. When the knife arrived, the wood chips fell, and a piece of waste wood was glowing in my hands.

"My father has been doing woodcarving for 15 years, and I usually do it at home to help him. I will pass this craftsmanship. This is a very meaningful thing." Speaking of my father, Usai, Cadir Dan Said that his father was not good at speaking, but when he talked about woodcarving, his eyes would shine.

Uyghur's woodcarving skills have a long history. With the improvement of living standards, more and more people have begun to use woodcarving works on their own architecture. As a carpentry, Wu Bu, driven by interest, devoted himself to studying woodcarving. He bought professional books for woodcarving, carefully scrutinized, and accumulated experience little by little. After the year and day of practice and creation, my wood carving skills are becoming more and more familiar.

The strength of the waist is sinking, the right arm is leaning forward, and the sculpture knife is held tightly on the right hand. The larger works need to work for more than 10 hours a day for about half a month to complete. "Pay attention to handmade woodcarving at all times. With one less sword, the three -dimensional and roundness of the work will be greatly reduced." Wu Buer said.

Wu Buer said that the quality of a woodcarving work is related to many factors, and raw materials are the most important foundation. Wu Buer's works are selected from walnut wood, poplar, willow, etc. produced at the foot of Tianshan. These wooden wood is tough and high, and it is suitable for making woodcarving works. In free time, he always selects wood in various places, and then he must check the procedures such as cutting, natural air drying, and sharding. According to the drawing of the wood, after years of accumulation, he can draw the carved drawings accordingly according to the needs, then the drawings are masked on the wooden board, the excessive part of the cutout, and then carefully carved.

Under the engraving knife, some humble branches and roots were given artistic value. With the advancement of technology, Wuja also paid off with the times and bought some electric tools. The woodcarving tools are upgraded, coupled with its unique carving kung fu, the carved works are also more exquisite.

Nowadays, many merchants come here and go to Wuja's house to find him for furniture, decorations, handlebarms, etc. The woodcarving works he made are decorated in multiple corners of tourist attractions in Guangzhou and Shanghai. Through he learned the charm of traditional handicrafts.
