Xichang to Ningnan Expressway Project is an important part of the provincial network vertical line S71 Leshan to Kunming highway in the "Sichuan Provincial Expressway Network Layout Plan (2022-2035)". component. The project line starts in Daxing Township, Xichang City. It receives the Xichang branch of the G7611 Xichang to Shangri -La Expressway. It via Pig County and ends in Ningyuan Town, Ningnan County. The route is 106 kilometers long. The two -way four -lane highway standard construction is used throughout the line. The design speed is 80 km/h. The bridge and tunnel ratio is about 72.4%.

The project is by Shu Dao Group Shu Gao Company, Chengdu Construction Industry Group Co., Ltd., Chengdu Transportation Investment Group Co., Ltd., Sichuan Highway Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd., Guangxi Road and Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd., Sichuan Chuanjiao Bridge Co., Ltd. Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. jointly invested and constructed, with a construction period of 5 years. It is planned to be opened to traffic in 2027. The construction of the project is of great significance to improve the layout of the road network, promote economic development and resource development and utilization, accelerate rural revitalization and ethnic areas, and maintain national unity.

The geological structure of the domain breaks and folds in the area where the project is located. The route and the Czeki River have been staggered and parallel. And this project is located in a strong earthquake area (the earthquake intensity is more than 8 degrees, and the seismic acceleration is 0.3 to 0.4g). At the same time, the terrain of the engineering area is large and the slope is steep. Some bridges and tunnels are located on the middle of the mountain. The construction platform can be used, the venue is extremely limited, and the construction organization is more difficult.
