The dry flow is 670 kilometers in length and an average annual runoff of 1.031 billion cubic meters. It is one of the three major inland rivers in Gansu Province.The Shule River Irrigation District is composed of the three sub -irrigation districts of Changma, Shuangta, and Huahai. It is responsible for the irrigation mission of 1.34 million acres of farmland in Yumen City and Guazhou County.The irrigation area wheat, corn, honeydew, cotton and other agricultural products are exported inside and outside the province. The Shule River provides solid water protection for the food safety and rural revitalization of the Hexi Corridor.
