Cuban Ambassador to China Perrara: Ancient and China relations have unprecedented stability

2022 is the 62nd anniversary of China's establishment of diplomatic relations with Cuba. Cuban Ambassador to China, Carlos Migel Preira, reviewed the history of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in an interview with overseas networks and expressed his expectations for promoting the continued development of relations between the two countries.

Perera said that the deep friendship between the people of ancient and China can be traced back to 175 years ago. In 1847, a group of Chinese workers arrived in Cuba by Spanish cargo ship. In the 19th century, the Chinese participated in Cuba's struggle for national independence and made outstanding contributions. In September 1960, the Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro announced that Cuba was willing to establish diplomatic relations with New China. On September 28 of the same year, the governments of ancient and China issued a joint bulletin to formally establish diplomatic relations. This decision stems from public opinion, and such public opinion is accompanied by the development of relations between the two countries.

Perrara said that Cuba has been developing relations with China for many years. Ancient and Chinese relations continue to develop on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit. Today, ancient and China relations have unprecedented stability. The two sides continued to deepen political trust, and the positions of international affairs were similar, and the relationship between the two countries had developed multi -level and comprehensively developed.

Perera also said that in the process of building a socialist process with their own characteristics, both ancient and China have always learned and reference to each other. In March of this year, the 4th theoretical seminar of the Communist Party of China and the Cuban Communist Party was held. The two parties exchanged in -depth exchanges on the views of major theories and practical issues, learned from each other's experience in governing the country and governing the country, and promoted the continuous development of their respective party building and socialist cause. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will become a historic moment. Cuba is very much looking forward to and pay attention to it. Perera said that ancient and China supported each other on issues involving each other's core interests. Cuba unswervingly supports a Chinese principle and opposes the attempt to destroy China's sovereignty and lead a complete behavior. Chinese representatives recently said at the 77th UN General Assembly that China has firmly supported the Cuban people's struggle to defend national sovereignty, oppose foreign interference and blockade. This proves the particularity of ancient and China relations.

According to Perera, although there are differences in the production capacity of ancient and China in terms of economic and trade cooperation, the ancient and China economy has a strong complementarity and great development potential. For example, China is the main market for Cuban goods exports. Cuban sugar and rum wines have high acceptance in the Chinese market and high demand. Cuba exports to China to add foods such as lobster, coffee and honey, with good market prospects.
