China and Iceland established diplomatic relations in 1971. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have close economic and trade relations. China has become the largest trading partner of Iceland in Asia for 15 consecutive years.

Iceland is the first European country to sign a bilateral free trade agreement with China, and the "old friend" to the Expo Enterprise Exhibition. Iceland companies have participated in the Exhibition Enterprise Exhibition for four consecutive years, bringing products such as wild red polar ginseng, catfish oil, whiskey, and skin care products. Iceland Oso, as a global giant of prosthetic limbs and non -implanted orthopedic equipment, has participated in the Exhibition of the Expo twice and will continue to participate in the exhibition this year.

This year, Iceland will first appear at the National Exhibition of the Expo to show the theme content such as the investment environment, healthy life, tourism, and food. The Icelandic Ambassador to China, Thorir IBSEN, delivered a video of the National Exhibition of the Expo, saying that Iceland and China cooperate in the fields of trade, tourism, innovation, technology, sustainable development, climate change, green geothermal energy and other fields.
