On July 16th, Beijing Forestry University issued a promise, a member of the Communist Party of China, a senior academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a famous landscape garden scholar, a landscape garden educator, a professor and doctoral instructor of Beijing Forestry University School of Garden University. At 23:12 on July 15, 2022, he died in Beijing at the age of 90.

Academician Meng Zhaoyuan was born on September 13, 1932 in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. He was admitted to the Beijing Agricultural University Horticultural Department of Gardening in September 1952. He graduated in July 1956. The Department of Greening (predecessor of the Beijing Forestry University Institute of Garden University) has successively participated in the construction of Beijing Forestry University's landscape and gardens and the preparations of the Department of Landscape Garden. Former deputy director of the Scenic Garden Expert Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban -Rural Development, Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Scenic Garden Society, and the leader of the Beijing Municipal People's Government Garden Green Consultant Group.

Academician Meng Zhaoyuan has profound academic education and profound accomplishments. He has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in the field of landscape garden planning and design, and is committed to inheriting and developing the national tradition of Chinese gardens. The traditional Chinese garden design sequence and gardening method- "Meng's Liuhan"; the academic masterpiece "Chengde Summer Revisiting Villa Garden Art" and "Garden Yan" have become the creative inheritance and development of Chinese garden thoughts represented by "Garden Ye" Academic integration of milestones; hosting the overall design of Shenzhen Xianhu Scenic Botanical Garden, the environment design design of Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Beijing Olympic Forest Park "Linquan Ao Meng" rockery design and other representative planning and design projects. ; I have won the honor of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the China Scenic Garden Society, the China Forestry Science and Technology Contribution Award, the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress of the China Scenic Garden Society, the first prize of the Shenzhen Urban Construction and the Outstanding Design Award of the Ministry of Construction.

Academician Meng Zhaoyu is a teacher and Fragrance. Academician Meng Zhaozheng's life is a life of patriotism, a life of struggle, and dedication. The death of Academician Meng Zhaoyu is a major loss of my country's academic community, higher education community and Beijing Forestry University. His academic accomplishment and personality charm will always remember and admire us. His scientific spirit and noble morality will always respect and learn for us!

In accordance with the wishes of Academician Meng Zhaoyuan himself and his family, everything was simplified, without holding farewell, no memorial service. Beijing Forestry University will organize a series of retrospective activities online.
