Chinese scientists have discovered high content of water in Chang'e 5 Monthly Minerals

Remote sensing detection finds that the moon tables are generally waters (OH/H₂O). However, due to the lack of direct evidence of sample analysis, the causes and distribution of moon watch water have always been controversial.

Recently, the scientific research team of the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted research on Chang'e 5 Monthly Foam samples. Through infrared spectrum and nano ion probe analysis, it was found that there were a large amount of solar wind in the surface of the Chang'e 5 mineral surface.The water content contributed to Chang'e 5 is at least 170 ppm.

Combined with the analysis of the transmitted electron microscope and energy spectrum, the formation and preservation of solar wind cause water are affected by the exposure time, crystal structure and composition of the main minerals.The study confirmed that the moon surface mineral is an important "repository" of water, which provides an important reference for the distribution of water in the middle latitude area of the moon table.This achievement was published in the international academic journal "Nature · Communication" a few days ago.
