The Ministry of Education held a press conference this morning to introduce the effectiveness of my country's education reform and development since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Liu Changya, director of the Development Planning Department of the Ministry of Education, introduced that in 2021, the average educational years of the labor age population reached 10.9 years, an increase of 1.0 years from 2012.

Among them, the proportion of higher education was 24.9%, an increase of 10.3 percentage points over 2012. The country with a degree of university culture has exceeded 218 million, and the quality of the people has been continuously improved, providing strong intellectual support for the high -quality economic development, and injecting a strong motivation for national rejuvenation.

Liu Changya further introduced that in the past ten years, my country's high -level innovative talents have improved their independent training capabilities. In 2021, a total of 3.332 million graduate students across the country, nearly doubled from 2012. Among them, 509,000 doctoral students in the school; "double first -class" construction colleges and universities were 9.54 million graduate students, accounting for 58.7%across the country. Focusing on the major national strategic needs, the "strong base plan" has recruited more than 18,000 people. The basic discipline -top talent training plan has attracted more than 10,000 outstanding students to participate in basic disciplines.
