Shatou is a village built on the sand. The name "Shatou" is as terrible as "killing". In fact, the pronunciation of the sand in Cantonese is far away from the pronunciation of the killing, and the sand head will never read as a kill.

There are many villages named after sand. Such as: Xiasha, Shangsha, Shazui, sand head, sand tail.

From the west to east, the line is lined up along the Shenzhen Bay. This area was once collectively referred to as "sand". The name "sand" contains "sand", which is related to geographical characteristics.

According to the elderly in Xiasha Village, because of the offshore here, the sea water shocked here into a large beach land. These villages were built on this sandy land, so they were named around "sand".

Since Huang built the village of Xiasha, Shangsha Village was formed on the east side of Xiasha. Later, some people of the surnames moved in, living in the periphery of Xiasha and Shangsha, and expanded eastward. Shazui was first built by the family named Chen. At the end of the Ming and early Qing dynasties, the family named Chen moved from other places to Shatou. When he first arrived, it was poor. Because it is built on the sand, the Xiasha is named different from the upper sand on the east side. It is the central village of Fukuda Shatou.

In addition to Shatou, sand tails, Shangsha, Xiasha, Shazui, there are Shaputou.

Shajing is in Baoan District: Because the villagers dig wells and take water, there are many sand in the well, and they are named "Shajing".

Shanpu and Shapong Village, because there are many rivers and sand, so the place names are "sand".

Shatoujiao, Dami Sha, Xiaomeisha, all in Yantian District.

The origin of "Meisha" is also very interesting:

Meisha Bay is connected from the beach of the Big and Xiaomeisha Bay.

The Meisha waves are powerful, and the white and soft "mildew (mi) sand" is found for thousands of years. The local Hakkas called the small sand skating as "mold sand", and the "mildew" local dialect and the "plum" are the same. As a result, "Menta" was written as "Meisha".

Shatou horn is named. There is a saying that is more bloody. "Shatou" is actually "killing the head". Shatoujiao is a killing field. During the Qing Dynasty, the pirates caught were beheaded here.

In addition, at the end of the Qing Dynasty, an official in Xin'an County came to the eastern inspection by a sedan. The official was instantly intoxicated by the beautiful scenery in front of him. His poetry was very good, walked out of the sedan, and blurted out the verses of "Sunrise Sand Head, the Moon Hall of the Sea". This poem is the origin of the place name of Shatoujiao.
