This study was participated in many countries such as Queensland University of Science and Technology, Girifis University, China University of China, Xiamen University, Jiangnan University, and South Medical University. Related papers have recently published in the Journal of the Australian "Diagnosis and Treatment".

The atmospheric cold plasma is generated under normal atmosphere. The temperature is close to the room temperature. It has safety and human tolerance characteristics. It can sterilize, promote skin wound healing, and inhibit cancer cell growth.

Rick Thompson, a professor of Queensland University of Technology who led this research, said that the new crown virus needs to be combined with the receptor ACE2 on the surface of the human cell to enter the infection with human cells. Their research found that even if it was only briefly exposed to atmospheric pressure -cold plasma, the ACE2 receptor on the cell surface would disappear immediately, which reduced the way to prevent infection by infecting human cells through receptor infection. In the laboratory training system, the inhibitory effect of atmospheric cold plasma can reach about 9 hours.

Thompson said that atmospheric cold plasma plasma is easy to produce, and its activity can also be transmitted to water or other liquids. This brings possibilities for developing new crowns to prevent drugs, such as mouthwash or nasal injection. In addition to the new coronary virus, this characteristic also makes the atmospheric cold plasma that is expected to act on other viruses to prevent them from using ACE2 receptors to infect human cells.
